I．はじめに
CO2レーザー手術はレーザー光を組織に直接照射し，その熱効果により瞬間的に組織の気化蒸散が行われるものである。その特性から多くの利点が挙げられ，近年有用な外科的手段としてCO2レーザー手術の評価は高まりつつある。
著者らは1980年3月よりCO2レーザー機を臨床に導入，爾来頭頸部領域の諸種疾患百数十例に適用し逐次報告してきた1〜4）。
Thirty-three patients with various diseases were treated with CO2 laser apparatus, Medilaser-S MEL 445C.
This apparatus is easily movable and designed for smaller size.
The treatment of outpatients is practicable, and control of recurred cancer can easily be carried out by repeating application of laser beam.
The laser-microsurgery of the nasal cavity is also possible for outpatients.
The small-sized apparatus dose not occupy much space in the operating room.
As a conclusion, the efficacy of this handy and small-sized apparatus with low power was confirmed.
