　I．はじめに

　喉頭異常感，異物感，また嚥下時の疼痛，嚥下困難などの諸症状を訴えて来院する患者の中に，時に茎状突起過長症例が認められることは諸家により報告されている。しかしながら同様の症状を呈する茎突舌骨靱帯化骨症例の報告はきわめて少ない。

　これは従来の報告が過長突起のみに主眼が置かれ，同症が看過されてきたためか，あるいは同症が事実稀れなものであることが推定される。

A case of a complete ossification of the stylohyoid ligament that caused a sensation of a foreign body in the throat is reported.

The authors discussed the possibility of finding a false articular formation of the stylohyoid chain with their mobility and assumed that the loss of their mobility may be related to the presence of various symptoms.

Ossification of the stylohyoid ligament is supposed to be rare in this country as compared with those of Europe and America.

The term "stylohyoid syndrome" appears to be an appropriate nomenclature given to elongated process and ossification of the stylohyoid ligament because of the difficulty with which to make a differential diagnosis between the two conditions, in view of their development and etiology.
