　蚊取線香は家庭用殺虫剤として広く日本，東南アジアで使用されている。日本の線香製造工場の多くは和歌山県箕島地区に集まり，生産量は日本の75〜80％といわれる。その従業員で鼻アレルギー症状をもつ2例を1974年蚊取線香鼻アレルギーと診断した。そこで1976年3月箕島地区6工場の集団検診を行ない，10.9％に蚊取線香鼻アレルギーを発見した。除虫菊はかつては線香の主成分で，除虫菊花粉症を中川ら^1）が報告しているが，蚊取線香鼻アレルギーの報告はみられない。

　The mosquito coil, a pesticide for mosquitoes popularly used in this country during the summer months, contains extract of dalmation chrysanthemum mixed and hardened into a coil form with some other inert ingredients.

　Among the 64 employees at the pesticide factory, 27 patients complained of sneezing and nasal discharge, the symptoms of nasal allergy. Further test showed that 12 patients from the latter number gave a positive reaction from the ingredients of the coil, whereas, 8 patients appeared to be allergic to the prevailling house dust.
