　I．はじめに

　最近，左耳介の約1/2を犬に咬みきられた患者に，silicon rubber frame（高研製）を利用して耳介の部分的再建を行なつたので報告する。

　Reconstruction of the auricle, which was partially bitten off by a dog-bite and reduced to about one half of its original size, was attempted by the use of silicon rubber frame. Because the remaining tags of the pinna became necrotic and unfit for material of reconstruction, the choice of the material became, either, patient's own costal cartilage or the silicon rubber frame.

　Considering the fact that the patient was a young girl, it was undesireable to perform operation that might leave a permanent scar on the chest ; and, should the silicon rubber frame fail in it use, there was still about one half of the pinna left intact which could be adequately hidden by types of hair dressing for cosmetic purposes.
