I．はじめに
上顎悪性腫瘍の内，肉腫の占める割合は約10％程度であるが1），軟骨肉腫の発生は比較的稀である。Arlenら2）はMemorial and James Ewing Hospitalにおける1932年から1968年までの間の上顎軟骨肉腫は10例であつたと報告し，平杉ら3）は本邦における本疾患の発生は15例と報告している。一方1959年Hichtensteinら4）は従来の軟骨肉腫とは異なる組織学的特徴を有する2症例を報告し，これをmesenchymal chondrosarcomaと呼称した。さらに1962年，Dahlinら5）は10例を追加報告し，その組織学的特徴を詳細に記載した。1971年Salvador6）は世界文献誌上本疾患の報告は51例であるとし，この内上顎に発生したものは5例にすぎず，きわめて稀な疾患といえる。われわれが本邦文献を渉猟し得た範囲では上顎に発生したmesenchymal chondrosarcomaの報告はみられなかつた。われわれは最近，本疾患と考えられる1例を経験したので報告するとともに文献的考察をも行なつたので併わせて報告する。
A case of mesenchymal chondrosarcoma of the left maxilla in a man, aged 30, is reported.
Mesenchymal chondrosarcoma is a rare neoplasm which was described by Lichtenstein in 1959 for the first time.
No case of this tumor involving the maxilla, heretofore, has been reported in the literature of this country.
The patient was treated by administration of anti-cancerous drugs (bleomycin) and radiotherapy with no appreciable effect.
Radical surgery was then undertaken. The result appears to be good. No recurrence is noted at present, 4 months after the operation.
