　Ⅰ．緒言

　メニエール病は多くの場合，多少の聴力低下あるいは前庭機能低下を来たしても，十分に代償されて治癒という状態へ持つていくことができる。しかし，中にはcalorigramやaudiogramにほとんど機能低下を残さず，他の検査でもさして異常をみとめないのに，めまいなどの愁訴のなかなかとれない症例がある。メニエール病患者30例の中から，そのような症例7例について検討し，一般の経過をとる例との違いを検討した。

　There are cases of Ménière's disease in whom the symptom of vertigo may be persistently present in spite of the fact that, by hearing and caloric tests, the ear involvement may proved to be slight. There were seven such cases from the 30 cases of Méenière's disease examined.

　These cases were tested by breath holding time test, in accordance to the Cornell Medical Index to reveal sympathetic nerve instability.

　The affection of this nature is attended with difficult cure not because of the lesion itself but because of the mental attitude of the patient towards the disease.
