　Ⅰ．緒言

　放線菌症がはじめて臨床的に報告されたのはv．Langenbeck（1845）によつてである。

　Bollinger（1877）は"lampy jaw"として知られた牛の病巣より同じ菌体を認めた。

　A case of actinomycosis involving the malar region of a man, aged 56, is reported. A tentative diagnosis of tumor was made; biopsy examination showed only the presence of granulation tissues of inflammatory origin. Three months later the patient developed an abccss in the same area. The examination of the pus discharge showed the presence of actinomycosis.
