　Ⅰ．緒言

　全身麻酔下の扁桃摘出手術は必ずしも新しい問題ではない。しかし今日のように全身麻酔法が著明に進歩してみると扁桃摘出手術法そのものにも色々考えねばならない問題が多くなつてきた。ついてはわたくしはここに，われわれの教室で最近行なつている方法ならびに成績を述べ，二三の考察を試みたい。

The indications and method of tonsillecto-mies performed under general anesthesia at the Otlaryngological Department of the Yoko-hama City University Medical School are ou-tlined and discussed. There were 32 cases of tonsillectomies performed, within the period of recent 2 years, under general anesthesia employing intratrachial method upon children whose ages were 6 years or less. The pre-sent type of anesthesia allowed the patient to be in a supine position during the operation. There were 3 minor accidents, among this list, during the operation but they all recove-red uneventfully with adequate attenti given them.
