　Ⅰ．緒言

　最近我々は著明な垂直性（上向性）自発性眼振の1例を経験し，Electronystagmographyによる詳細なる記録分析を行い合せて文献的考察によりその病巣所在の決定を試みた。

　垂直性自発性眼振は報告例少なく，比較的稀有な症例と考えられたのでここに報告する。

A careful analysis of electronystagmograph taken on a patient who suffered a marked. vertical nystagmus was made. With the aid of other reports in the literature an attempt was made to localize the center in which this disturbance occurred. In this patient horizo-ntal nystagmus was elicited when the vision was directed towards the periphery; the amount of nystagmus showed an increase with the vision directed towards the lelt. With vestibular stimulation the nystagmus showed an increase when the right apparatus was stimulated. The body had a tendency to lean towards the left side. From these evidences it was thought that the disturbing element may be in or about the nucleus of nervus vestibularis.
