反対側に生じた耳性脳膿瘍の剖検例

　I．緒言

　耳性頭蓋内合併症は近年化学療法，抗生剤の進歩に伴つて著明な減少を来したが，一旦罹患すれば致命的な重篤な疾患である為に耳科医として等閑視出来ない疾患である。

　私は最近三叉神経痛を主訴として入院し，診断確定し得ず死亡し，剖検の結果，反対側に生じた耳性脳膿瘍と考えられる症例を経験したので報告する。

A man, aged 28, was admited to the hospital complaining of trigeminal neuralgia. The diagnosis was not certain between brain tumor and abcess. But, before definitive diagnosis could be reached the patient died of dyspneic attack. The necropsy showed a large abcess in the brain extending from the parietal to the occiptal lobes on the left side of which the neuralgic pains were complained of ; the bone of the skull covering this area showed in two places a small dehiscence. The brain lesion was found on the opposite side of which the ear trouble was found. Symptom manifestations of brain abcess in this case other than complaints of pain of trigeminal neuralgia were notably absent. The fact that the existing abcess caused a change in the overlying skull was an interesting finding.
