緒言
真珠腫は一般に次の如く分類されている。
真性真珠腫仮性真珠腫一次性真珠腫二次性真珠腫
YAMADA and SHINOHARA report a case of cholesteatoma of the ear that involved the rece-ssus epitympanicus without disturbances of he-aring. For this latter reason clinically an erro-neous diagnosis of cholesteatoma of the external ear canal was made. The patient complained of ear discharge that was present for a consi-derable length of time. The external ear canal was occluded with growths of polyps. After removal of these polyps the appearance of the drum was normal and the hearing was also nor-mal. The X-Ray examination showed indiscr-eet shaddows but the mastoid air-cells were well developed and clear. After the fourth repitition of recurrence and removal of aural polyps the patient was operated upon to reveal the true nature of the condition.
