巨大なる鼻腔線維腫の1例

　緒言

　鼻腔内線維腫に関しては従来かなり多数の症例が報告せられており極めて稀なものではない。併し乍らその治療に当り多くは摘出手術に際して出血に悩まされて完全摘出が不能となり，時には不幸な転帰をとつた症例も報告せられており細心の注意を要するものとせられている。

　我々は今般文献にも余りその例を見ない巨大な鼻腔内線維腫の治療に当り「ラドンシード」使用後分割手術を試みたがその途中不幸な転帰をとつた一例に遭遇した。而もその死因が従来報告せられているような失血のみとは考えられず珍らしいものと思われたので茲に報告する次第である。

KIKUCHI and MATOME raports a case of nasal fibroma that resulted in death of the patient by removal of the growth. The pati-ent a man, aged 39, complained of impaired nasal breathing which was found to be caused by presence of a growth in the right nasal cavity that weighed 80g, after removal. In spite of the operation having been performed in stages with preoperative irradiation of the growth by use of radon-seeds, as a precautio-nary measure, the hemorrhage during the procedure was profuse ; complaining of dizzi-ness and nausea the patient died. The necro-psy showed the growth, not only to have cau-sed bony destruction in the sphenoid sinus but, to be extending out laterally involving the greater wings and above, the cranial cavity. The cause of death is believed to be the su-dden change that the removal created in the cranial cavity pressure as well as the profuse massive hemorrhage.
