惡性ヂフテリーの1治験例

緒言

　悪性ヂフテリー（以下悪性ヂと略記する）の成因としては，或は菌毒素の異常に高度な場合を主張するもの（Langer，Heissen等），又は菌種菌型に重点を置くもの（此れは1931年Andasonがヂフテリー菌をTypus mitis，intermedius，gravis．の3型に分け悪性ヂはTypus gravisに依るとしたもの），更に或は溶血性連鎖状球菌との混合感染を強調し（Finkelsoein，Känigoberger，Upoype，Frobischer），若くは生菌に依るアナフイラキシー現象にその原因を求むる，（Koscha，Grunberg）等種々であるが要するに，咽頭の高度な蜂窠織炎と壊死に加うるに急速な中毒症状を伴い治療血清が効奏し難く，従つて死亡率の非常に高い事に依つて普通のヂフテリー（以下ヂと略記する）と全然趣を異にする点は確認されている

　吾々の症例にその全経過に亘り徹頭徹尾ヂ菌を証明出来す，初めは壊疽性アシギーナを疑い，その経過よりして悪性ヂであると思われた1例である．

However, when serum therapy was instituted the patient recovered. He. therefore, stresses the importance of administering anti-diphtheritic serum in face of any doubt as to the infection being diphtheritic in nature.
