I．はじめに

　悪性腫瘍に対する温熱療法は以前より試みられているが，近年加温療法機器の発達と相まって，注目される治療法となってきた．悪性脳腫瘍，ことに悪性グリオーマを対象とする基礎的研究^2-5,16）および臨床的研究^{1,9-12,17,20）}も発表され，温熱療法単独でも効果は期待できるが，放射線療法および化学療法との併用によりさらに有効であることも次第にわかってきた^7,8,12）．

　われわれはこれまでもラットgliomaモデルを用いて，化学療法，放射線療法の効果を検討してきたが^14,15），今回2450MHzマイクロ波による組織内加温および放射線療法との併用療法を行い，その有効性につき検討を行った．

Rat glioma model was used to evaluate the effect of hyperthermia with and without radiation therapy. The animal model was induced by left frontal burr hole opening and inoculation of a small piece of G-XII glioma tissue to 6- to 8-week-old rats. The therapeutical experiments were given 10 - 14 days after inoculation of the tumor. Interstitial heating at 44 and 45°C at the surface of the inserting probe using 2450 MHz microwave was delivered for 30 minutes. Deep X-ray whole head irradiation of 800 R using Stabilipan 2 (Siemens) was given just after the hyperthermia therapy.
