I．はじめに
食道癌は生存率不良の悪性度の高い腫瘍である．その脳転移は剖検例の報告1,4,5,15）がほとんどであり，手術症例の報告2,6,9,10,16,19）は極めて少ない．
最近，脳腫瘍で発症し，全摘後に原発巣として食道癌が発見された症例を経験した．症例の報告とともに，過去の報告例のまとめ，および転移様式について文献的検討を加えて報告する．
We encountered a case of brain metastasis from asymptomatic esophageal cancer. A 50-year-old man presented with right hemiparesis and bilateral choked discs. The brain CT scan demonstrated ring-like, enhanced tumor with perifocal edema in the left parietal lobe. The chest X-ray showed no abnormal-ities. The histology of the brain tumor that was totally removed after irradiation, showed a poorly differen-tiated squamous cancer.
By the follwing study, an esophageal cancer of Borr-man Ⅱ type and 8 cm in length at the middle third segment detected.
