I．はじめに

　悪性神経膠腫は，現在なお治療困難な疾患のひとつである．術後の放射線療法，化学療法の進歩により，その治療成績も向上しつつあるが，大半の症例が再発，増悪を繰返し不幸な転機をたどっている．動物実験での成績のよさが，そのまま臨床成績につながらないのは，使用する薬剤の量の差によるところも多いと思われるが，大量に薬剤を使用すれば，急性，亜急性毒性の問題があり，特に，強い骨髄抑制のために通常の方法で臨床に実施するのは極めて困難である．一方，骨髄移植の試みは1956年以来，数多くなされてきたが^3,18,19），最近，骨髄細胞の凍結保存技術の確立により，大量の化学療法あるいは全身放射線照射後に凍結保存しておいた自家骨髄を戻すという方法で骨髄抑制を克服し，白血病その他の悪性腫瘍の治療が試みられ好成績をあげている^{5,6,8,12,16）}，われわれは，従来の治療に抵抗性の悪性神経膠腫に対し，自家骨髄移植を併用した大量化学療法を行う機会を得たので報告する．

Three patients with malignant gliomas were treatedwith the high-dose chemotherapy with autologous bonemarrow transplantation. In the first two cases, theautologuos bone marrow cells were stored and trans-planted 48 hours after single high-dose of ACNUtherapy. (800 mg/m², 600 mg/m²) One died of intra-tumorous bleeding on the 18th day and the other ofpulmonary fibrosis on the 35th day. Their autopsyspecimens revealed that most of the tumor had degen-erated with only a small portion of viable cells.
