I．はじめに

　大後頭孔部周辺疾患は，多彩な神経症状を呈し，診断に難渋することが多い^1）．しかも，従来より施行されてきたair myelugraphy，myodil myelographyなどの諸検査では，患者に対する侵襲が強く，その上，手技上の難しさも加わり，確定診断が困難な場合もある^1）．CTの登場にて，同領域の診断がnon-invasiveに可能となった今回われわれは，CTによる大後頭孔部—上位頸椎部疾患の診断につき検討を加えたので報告する．特にC₁レベルにおけるplain CT所見に注目してみた．

The value of computed tomography in the spine and spinal cord disease recently has been well documented.However, little attentiom is made to the role of computed tomography in foramen magnum and high cervical cord lesion. We report 16 cases of the foramen magnum and high cervical cord lesion.

Method: Either EMI Head Scanner, CT 1010 (slice thickness 10 mm) or EMI Whole Body Scanner, CT 5005 (slice thickness 13mm) was used. In 9 cases enhanced CT with intravenous injection of contrast medium was performed. Eleven cases received intrathecal injection of metrizamide.
