Ⅰ．はじめに

　コンピュータ処理によるX線軸位横断々層装置（以下CT scan）は1972年イギリスで開発されて以来頭蓋内疾患，特に脳腫瘍の診断に画期的な進歩をもたらし，またこの検査の侵襲の少なさを考えると患者にとって大きな恩恵をもたらしたことは言を待たない．

　しかし多くのCTスキャン装置は主として脳横断面撮影法（transverse tomography）を中心に開発されたため，頭蓋骨その他の構造の入りくんでいる頭蓋底部の診断には不向きであった^11），この短所を克服するため，頭位を変えて前額面像を得る方法^{9,10,13,15）}，髄液腔に陽性造影剤を注入する方法^4）等が試みられている。われわれは横断面像の再構成により前額面，矢状面像を得，診断の助けとしておりこの方法による頭蓋底部とくに鞍近傍腫瘍の描出能につき検討する．

As the computed tomography has developed mainly in axial, transverse section, it has the weakest point in the diagnosis of lesions adjacent to the skull base. The comlexity of anatomical structures within a relatively small space makes difficult the generally required detailed anatomical evaluation.

Using CAT-N of ARTRONIX, we routinely get the coronal and sagittal views by reconstructing the transverse materials. Each transverse slice is 3 mm in thickness and the numher of slices is 35, from the base of the skull to the vertex. The reconstruction can be done in every each millimeter in 3 minutes.
