Ⅰ．緒言

　松果体腫は頭蓋内腫瘍のうちで最も照射療法の有効な腫瘍の1つでこの腫瘍の深部局在性による直達的手術療法の困難性から照射療法がfint choiceとして用いられることが多くその治療的診断がひろく行われている^1，2）

　この腫瘍の日本人における高い発生頻度，多彩な臨床症状，組織学的問題点および治療上の問題点から本腫瘍は頭蓋内腫瘍のうちで特異な位置を占めている^3）．

The authors report a case of intracranial tumor which revealed a huge calcified mass in the pineal region 6 years after previous radiotherapy. A nineteen-year-old man admitted to Hiroshima University Hospital on July 29, 1969 with the complaints of headache, hearing loss and choked disc on both sides. Plain skull films showed no pathological findings. Right carotid angiograms revealed the signs of internal hydrocephalus and upward displacement and stretching of the internal cerebral vein. He was diagnosed as to have the tumor of the posterior part of the third ventricle, probably pinealoma.
