Stasiologyからみた左足と右足

Lateralization of a left human foot and a right from a viewpoint of stasiology

I．はしがき

　「からだ」の語源は，ヒトが大地に立つさまを表わす「躯立ち」（からだち）に由来する。また，「立」は一線（地面）に両足をきちんと揃えて立ち，安定して揺がない姿の象形文字である。これらの持つその意味と内容は，ヒトが安定した直立姿勢を保持するためのメカニズムの機序を解明するうえにきわめて重要なかかわりがあることは，非常に興味深い。

　なぜならば，直立姿勢は，1）他の動物と区別する重要な定義の一つであり，またそれは，2）すべての動作の根源であると考えるからである。

Summary

Three conclusions are obtained from study of lateralization in physical and functional roles of a left foot and a right during standing upright and walking, from a viewpoint of Stasiology by observing 2,976 normal men, 2,467 normal women and 21 male cases of abnormal diseases, as follows.

1. The supporting ability of a left foot is observed to be higher than that of a right, both in standing on both feet and on one foot.

2. It is cleared that a left foot during walking standing posture at all times and a right plays arole of movement.
