Ⅰ．緒言

　前頭・頭頂弁蓋皮質，とりわけ，その上唇面および内面（upper bank of Sylvian fissura）は，その一部，たとえばWoolsey（1958）^23）のSⅡといった部分を除いては，機能的にも不明な点も多いし，形態的にも，たとえば脳地図の領域区分もくわしくみればかなり異なっているというふうに，わからない点が多い。この弁蓋皮質剖は機能的に重要な部に隣接していたり，それ自身重要な機能を有している部と考えられるが，それにもかかわらず系統的研究がなされていない部であったといえよう。それでカニクイザルを使い，上唇面，内面を含む弁蓋皮質に傷をつくり，Nauta法（1954）^12）によりここからの視床への投射をしらべてみた。なお，この部の傷の作成は，技術的にかなり難かしかった。

From the morphological and functional point of view, there thought to be many points which are uncertain on the front-parietal opercular cortex. The opercular cortex difined here includes the cortex below the line passing through the central sulcus (C.S.) and of the intra-parietal sulcus (I.P.S.) In this study, IO monkeys were used. The lesions were made to produce bilaterally or unilaterally. Survival time of animals were from 7 days to 25 days and their average survival time was 12.2 days.
