  • Look Inside

A form of disseminated necrotizing leukoencephalopathy was observed at an autopsy of an 8-year-old girl with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, who had received systemic combined chemotherapy, brain radiation, and intrathecal administration of methotrexate for the meningeal involvement.

Onset of her illness was at 6 years of age, then she had been treated with betamethasone, 6-mercaptopurine, methotrexate and cyclophosphamide. Thereafter, she had 3 attacks of meningeal involvement, each of which was improved after intrathecal methotrexate and brain radiation.
