　急性陰囊症には精巣捻転，精巣垂捻転，精巣上体垂捻転，精巣上体炎，および精巣炎などがあるが，必ずしも診断は容易でない。当院で2009年5月〜5年間に外科的治療を要した13例を検討したところ，精巣捻転5例，精巣垂捻転4例，精巣上体垂捻転2例，陰囊水腫の感染1例，精巣破裂1例であった。すべての症例は手術により診断が確定した。精巣捻転5例のうち6時間以内に手術を行った1例と不全捻転の1例は精巣を温存できた。精巣垂捻転，精巣上体垂捻転の症例はすべて手術後症状が改善した。若年者の急激な陰囊痛では本疾患を疑い可及的すみやかに手術を行うべきである。

For the past 5 years, we have experienced 13 cases of acute scrotum in the age of 7 months to 26 years：5 testicular torsion, 4 appendix testis torsion, 2 appendix epididymis torsion, 1 testicular rupture and 1 inflammation. 13 patients were operated. We were only able to successfully salvage the testis in 2 out of the 5 testicular torsion cases. It is necessary to perform a surgery as soon as possible（within 6 hours after the onset of symptoms）if a testicular torsion is suspected. Furthermore, we need to perform the orchiopexy of the contralateral testis.
