緒言
停留睾丸は，男子性器奇形のなかで最も頻度の高いものの一つで，臨床上も重要な疾患である。小児期では，陰嚢内容が空虚であるほかは一般に無症状で経過する。しかし，時に鼠径ヘルニア，外傷，捻転，悪性腫瘍などの合併がみられ，さらに思春期後の合併症として造精機能低下のための不妊症の原因となる。
本症の診断法としては，一般には単純な視・触診法に限られており，症例の大多数はこれによつて一応は診断を下すことができるので，特殊的診断法の開発がなおざりにされていた。しかしながら，症例によつては睾丸の停留部位を確実に知ることが困難であつたり，非手術的方法にて下降を期待することができるか否かの判断に苦しむことも少なくない。したがつて，視・触診法の補助となる簡便な診断法の開発が望まれていた。最近，腹腔造影法の一種である andrography が1966年Lunderquist ら1〜3）により，またinguinal hernio—graphy が1967年 Ducharme ら4）によつて発表された。
Inguinal herniography, designed by Ducharme et al. in 1967, was done and studied on 44 testicles for radiological diagnostic method for undescended testicle. The outline of processus vaginalis is clear and 85.7% followed the findings by surgery.
The following classification is suggested according to whether the processus vaginalis is closed or not.
A: Undescended testicle with closed processus vaginalis
A-1: Undescended testicle with agenesis of processus vaginalis (5 testicles)
A-2: Inguinal undescended testicle with closed processus vaginalis (11 testicles)
