　モルモットにおける単純化学物質による接触性皮膚炎が比較的人のそれに類似することから，アレルギー性皮膚反応の発生病理解明のために多く使用されてきた。一方，皮膚科領域においては接触性皮膚炎をはじめとする急性炎症のみならず，尋常性乾癬などの慢性皮膚疾患にコルチコステロイドホルモンの外用が広く利用されてきている。コルチコステロイドの皮膚におよぼす作用について，Kligman^1）は血管収縮作用，表皮のturnoverの著明な抑制，Lysosomeの安定化などをあげているが，なお接触性皮膚炎などの急性炎症に対する作用機序は不明な点が少なくない。さらに臨床的に各種のコルチコステロイド剤の効果を，同程度の炎症の場で比較検討することは慢性病巣を除いては困難である。

　現在，実験的2-4-dinitrochlorbenzene （DNCB）接触感作によるモルモット表皮湿疹反応に対して，各種市販コルチコステロイド剤を使用し，その効果を組織学的に検討しているので，その結果についてのべる。

DNCB allergic contact dermatitis of guinea pig treated with steroid ointment before or after the challenge were studied histologically to know the action mechanisms of the ointment.

There was no significant difference in the histologic picture between those treated with steroid ointment and those of untreated control group. They showed the picture of the allergic secondary contact dermatitis equivocally.

The histologic picture of the skin of the guinea pig challenged by DNCB after the application of steroid ointment showed also the same results.

These findings suggested that the steroid ointment did not give any action to the epidermal allergic response, but inhibit the dermal inflammatory change. The later action might introduce the improvement of the epidermal damage secondarily.
