　はじめに

　近年，本邦においても再び覚醒剤の乱用が増加したため，これによる事故が増えている^1）。症状は軽度な精神障害より中毒死に至るまで種々であり，自傷する例もみられる^2）。今回，われわれは覚醒剤の乱用により精神錯乱をきたし，割箸で上咽頭から下咽頭までを損傷して頸部の皮下および縦隔気腫をきたした1例を経験した。この種の報告は耳鼻咽喉科領域ではほとんどみられないので報告する。

A 24-year-old woman self-inflicted an injury from the epipharynx to the hypopharynx with adisposable chopstick while she was in a state of confusion due to amphetamine addiction

This resulted in cervical subcutaneous em-physema and mediastinal emphysema. Although the site of perforation was unclear, it was presumed from CT findings of emphysema retention that the chopstick was inserted into the retropharyngeal space, the bilateral parapharyngeal spaces and the left carotid space.
