I．はじめに

　舌根部囊胞は，舌根部甲状舌管囊胞や舌根部貯留囊胞など舌根部にできる囊胞の総称で，比較的稀な疾患である^1）。

　最近われわれは，舌根部囊胞の新生児例と成人例の2症例を経験した。新生児例では啼泣時にチアノーゼを呈し，成人例は咽喉頭異常感を主訴とした。これらの経過と診断および治療について，新生児例と成人例を比較し文献的考察を加え報告する。

　A 2-day-old infant with stridor and breathing difficulty,and a 40-year-old female with abnormal sensation in the pharynx showed a lingual cyst. We treat them by incision and removal of the cyst wall by intra-oral approach. There was no reccurence,to date,in both cases.

　Cysts at the base of the tongue in infants causing stridor may be fatal if they are not recognized and treated. The most common treatment of cysts at the base of the tongue is marsupialization. This procedure resulted in the successful resolution of the airway obstruction and bleeding is minimal. Tracheotomy has rarely been necessary.
