当科における急性喉頭蓋炎症例の検討

A Clinical Study of Acute Epiglottitis

I．はじめに

　急性喉頭蓋炎は日常診療でしばしば遭遇する疾患であるが，ときに重篤な呼吸困難を呈することがあるため，耳鼻咽喉科救急疾患の最も重要なもののうちの1つである。

　今回われわれは，過去5年間に東邦大学医学部附属大森病院耳鼻咽喉科外来を受診した急性喉頭蓋炎症例30例について臨床的に検討したので，若干の文献的考察を加えて報告する。

　We reviewed thirty cases with acute epiglottitis presented and treated at Omori Hospital,Toho University between 1997 and 2001.

　Of 30 cases,male to female ratio was 19 to 11. Their mean age was 44 years old. The disease was frequently seen in spring and summer. The patients tend to complain severe pain and difficulty swallowing.

　Most of the patients were treated successfully by using intravenous antibiotics and steroids,unless airway obstructions occur.
