　老人性円板状黄斑変性で大型の網膜色素上皮剥離を伴った症例37例38眼にインドシアニングリーン赤外螢光眼底造影（ICG螢光造影）とフルオレセイン螢光眼底造影（フルオレセイン螢光造影）を行い，両造影を比較した。新生血管の検出率はICG螢光造影では36眼95％，フルオレセイン螢光造影では23眼61％で，両造影を合わせると97％に新生血管が証明された。ICG螢光造影は新生血管が色素上皮剥離の内外のいずれに存在しても，フルオレセイン螢光造影よりも新生血管の検出に優れていた。また，ICG螢光造影でみられた新生血管の位置はフルオレセイン螢光造影でみられたnotch signやhotspotとは一致しないことがあった。これらの結果から，網膜色素上皮剥離を伴った老人性円板状黄斑変性の新生血管の検出にはICG螢光造影は欠かせない検査法であることが明らかになった。

We examined 38 eyes with pigment epithelial detachment in age related macular degeneration using fluorescein angiography (FAG) and indocyanine green angiography (ICG). Choroidal neovasculariza-tion was detected in 95% of eyes by ICG and in 61% by FAG. Detection of neovascularization in and out of pigment epithelial detachment was thus facilitated more by ICG than FAG. There are occasional discrep-ancies between notch sign and hot spot seen by FAG and choroidal neovascularization as detected by ICG. The findings show that ICG is of particular value in the exact diagnosis of pigment epithelial detachment as manifestation of age-related macular degeneration.
