Abstract Purpose:To report a rare case of central serous chorioretinopathy(CSC)associated with retinitis pigmentosa(RP).

Case:A 37-year-old male with visual acuity loss in the right eye which was pointed out by medical checkup.

Findings and Clinical Course:Best-corrected visual acuity was 0.5 in the right eye and 1.5 in the left eye. Both eyes showed narrowing of retinal blood vessels and retinal choroid atrophy accompanied by osteoid-like pigmentation. Electroretinogram showed decreased amplitude of both cone and rod responses. Serous retinal detachment(sRD)was observed in macular region of right eye. Fluorescein angiography showed a leakage point around macula. Based on the above findings, it was diagnosed as CSC associated with RP. Retinal photocoagulation was performed at the fluorescence leakage point. Although sRD improved once, sRD recurred and multiple retinal photocoagulation was required.

Conclusion:Although the case of CSC associated with RP is thought to be rare, it might be difficult to control once it occurs due to the vulnerability of RPE-choroid.
