　我々は乳幼児視機能障害のスクリーニングを目的としたGrating Cardを試作し，その臨床評価を行っているが，今回は，主として当科斜視弱視外来を受診した3歳までの児を対象としてGrating Cardにより得られた結果と通常のPL法との検査結果について比較検討を行った．

　Grating Cardにより評価した視力とPL法による視力の評価はほぼ同様であり一致した成績が得られた．したがって，本法は乳幼児視力のスクリーニングに非常に有効な方法であると思われる．

We designed a new system, the grating card, to screen the visual function in infants and children under 3 years of age. The system consists of set of 7 cards, each 9 cm across. Vertical grating patternsof varying spacial frequencies are printed on each card. The acutual visual function is expressed by the finest grating which the subject can recognize.

We found the new system to be of practical value. Tentative appraisal in infants and children under 3 years of age showed a fair correlation between our system and preferential looking method.
