I．緒言

　二焦点コンタクトレンズの研究として，レンズの中央部に同心円状の遠用部を設計した際に，視線のずれ（又はレンズの移動）と，角膜面上のレンズの位置，瞳孔径，レンズの遠用部の直径に就ては，一定の相互関係があり，その間の臨床的検査法を確立する事に依り，処方の決定が出来る事は第1報で報告した。

　此処で処方決定上，留意しなければならない事は，調節を主体とする老視のレンズ光学に於て，眼鏡レンズに依る調節と眼自体による調節，換言すれば，眼鏡レンズの置かれた位置の調節と，眼の主点に於ける位置の調節とでは自ら数値を異にする事である。前者は眼鏡調節（SpectacleAccommodation），後者は眼調節（OcularAccommodation）と称せられる。

From the theoretical concideration, the author emphasizes that in the fitting of bifocal contact lens, practitioner must decide the prescription under the consideration of the relationship between the spectacle and ocular accommodation as if in the case of usual contact lens we dealed it with rather ocular refraction than spectacle refraction, and then the figure indicated the difference between spectacle and ocular accommodation is conve-niently used.
