I．緒言

　トラコーマ診断の基準については，従来より多くの分類法があつた。

　文部省科学研究費トラコーマ班のトラコーマ分類法（トラコーマ診断基準^1））は周知の如く，概ね，WHO分類に準拠するものであるが，之によると，臨床所見として必ず記入すべき記号（所見）として，

Fluorescein-staining-epithelial-keratitis (Keratitis superficialis diffusa~refeared to as K.S.D. hereunder) in normal, non-trachomatous and trachomatous eyes were investigated and as a criterion for diagnosing trachoma, we must note that,

1. K.S.D. may be regarded as one of the symptoms of trachoma.

2. But it cannot be an absolutely accurate index for diagnosing trachoma, since in Japan K.S.D. has been discovered in normal conjunctiva, and many non-trachomatous conjunctival diseases, and even if there is some stochastically significant difterence in frequency, we cannot depend only on this.
