緒言

　特定地域に於ける特定疾患の分布状態，発生率等所謂疾病の動的観察を行う事は，社会公衆衛生学上有意義な事であるが，従来斯る眼科学的調査には大学病院の眼科教室や，特定病院を中心とした報告が多く，従つて調査範囲も限られて居た。横浜市眼科医会（会員数64名）では横浜市衛生局後援の下に同会員の協力により昭和30年から横浜市に発生した流行性角結膜炎（以下流角と略称），トラコーマ（以下トラと略称）眼外傷，眼徴毒等につき種々の調査をし，己にその一部は昭和31年2月元会員八来博士により神奈川眼科集談会及び横浜保健時報に報告発表せられた，其後も引続き調査を進めて居たので此度昭和30年3月より昭和32年12月迄の分を一括集計し，茲にそれを報告する。

Statistical investigations on the mode and distribution of occurrence, causes, kinds and symptoms of epidemic keratoconjunctivitis, trachoma, ocular trauma and syphilis were carried out by Yokohama Ocullist Association.

New cases of the diseases were encountered usually between March and September, with the peak in June. New cases of epidemic keratoconjunctivitis were mostly found in August and September and in persons of 10-29 years of age. Those of trachoma were generally found between May and July and in persons of 0-19 years of age. These facts might have been influenced by mass physical examination performed in schools.
