緒言

　著者らはHydrophilic Soft Contact Lens （以下SCL）の曲率測定法に関し，実験ならびに器械の開発を行ないすでに発表^1,2）してきたが，今回本器に2,3の改良を加えその実用性を高めた。

　1μのDial gaugeでは測定条件により測定値の安定が難しいこと，測定値の読み取りが繁雑なことからDigital Indicatorを用い5μ読みとし同時に円柱直径を8mmφとし最終理論精度は0.03mm位となつた。また円柱上端の形状に検討を加えた。

This paper is to describe the points which have been improved over the method of measur-ing the radius curvature of hydrophilic soft contact lens more precisely in the liquid with Basecope.

Newly developed digital indicator is added. A conventional dial gauge can also be attached. To ease the lens mounting, self-centering de-vice has been developed. To hold the accuracy, the width of diameter in the standard columnwas made to 8mm and the minimum reading of digital indicator to 5μ. Thought was also given to the bevelling angle on the column head to ensure greater accuracy.
