視力障害の原因となつた硝子体閃輝症

Asteroid Hyalosis Causing Visual Distarbance

緒言

　1894年Benson^1）によりAsteroid hyalitisと命名された硝子体閃輝症Scintillatio niveaは他にAsteroid hyalopathy^2）Asteroid hyalosis^3）等の呼称をもつ特異な硝子体混濁を示す疾患である。

　従来硝子体閃輝症は視力に影響を及ぼさない^4,5）といわれており，そのためかその報告例は多くはないが，最近著者らは本症に後硝子体剥離を合併した結果視力障害を来したと考えられる2例を相次いで経験したので報告する。

Two cases of asteroid hyalosis with visual impairment are described.

A 70 year-old female developed blurred vision in her left eye. Her corrected visual acuity was 1.0 RE and 0.3 LE. In the left eye, the vitreous was detached and contained numerous asteroid bodies. They were densely condensed in thecenter and just before the posterior vitreous membrane. The left fundus was practically nor-mal so that the presence of asteroid hyalosis was judged to be responsible for the impairment of vision

The second case was a 61-year-old female who visited us complaining viusal disturbance in her right eye.
