緒言

　全身性エリテマトーデス（SLE）に眼底変化を伴うことを最初に報告したのはBergmeister（1929）^1）である。その変化としては乳頭発赤，静脈怒張蛇行，乳頭周囲および黄斑部に散在する白斑を指摘している。我が国でも田野氏の報告（1949）^2）を初めとしてかなりの報告^3）〜15）がある。

　眼底変化は上述の如くに，乳頭の発赤，静脈の怒張蛇行，後極部の白斑の散在などであるが，そのなかでも静脈の怒張蛇行は，それがひどくなると念珠状あるいは一連のソーセージ様と表現されるような特異な所見となるといわれている。しかし，それを眼底写真で示したのは鹿野氏の報告^12）以外には見当らないようである。

A case of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus associated with an appearance of a string of sausages of retinal veins was reported. 29-year-old woman suffered from visual disturbance of both eyes and paraplegia of the both legs. Oph-thalmoscopic examinations revealed cotton-wool spots, retinal edema, retinal hemorrhages, and venous dilatation and tortuosity. 3 weeks laterafter the attack, the cotton-wool spots and the retinal edema almostly disappeared by systemic administration of steroid. However, the venous dilatation and tortuosity gradually increased to assume an appearance of a string of sausages.
