I．緒言

　1908年，Nicolle,Manceauxにより，北アフリカのCtenodactylus gondiiより発見された，Toxoplasma gondii （以下T．p．と略称する）感染による疾患に関しては，近年その基礎的研究の発展とあいまち，臨床各領域においても非常に重要視されるにいたつた。

　特に眼科領域においては，先天感染による脈絡膜炎をはじめとして，葡萄膜炎，網脈絡膜炎の原因の一部としてきわめて重要視されるにおよび，その検索は日常診療においてもroutineな検査となりつつある。

Detailed accounts of ocular toxoplasmosis in a 37-year-old male are presented. The patient, who happened to be a prosector, presumably contracted the disease during an autopsy of a child who had died of toxoplasmosis, when, by accident, certain amount of cerebrospinal fluid of the child splashed into his left eye. Two years later, the patient developed chorioretinitisand subsequently secondary retinal detachment in the left eye.

Toxoplasma gondii was isolated from the subretinal fluid of the patient.
