視力に関する総合研究班は昭和37,38年の両年度で一応所期の目的を達したが，尚若干の問題が残つているため，視力研究グループとして研究連絡を行うという申合せにより，今回第一回のグループディスカッションが名大・小島教授のお世話により，名古屋市産業貿易会館で催された。演題数は8題、参加人員は52名に過ぎなかつたが，何れも深い関心を持つた方ばかりであつたため，約3時間にわたり熱心な討議が行われた。
A group meeting for visual acuity studies was held on Nov. 19th in Nagoya concurren-tly with the Congress of Clinical Ophthalmo-logy. 8 papers were read before 52 partici-pants.
A NEW TEST CHART FOR VISUAL AC-UITY was presented by Shinoda et al., of Medical and Dental College of Tokyo. Japa-nese alphabet of Hirakana-type was used as optotype. Because of care during the process of printing, the range of error of the size of the optotypes could be not to exceed 10% of the intended size.
READABILITY OF LANDOLT'S RING IN DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS was discussed by N.Ohyama of Nihon University.
