　経験上，単なるジアテルミー凝固や，鞏膜短縮，又はPolyviolplombe或はSilicone桿を縫付けての部分的なScleral bucklingでは治癒の見込みはないと判断，又は推定された症例群に，輪状鞏膜締結法を行なつた成績について述べる。

Since 1960 the authors have done the circl-ing buckling operation of the bulbus for se-vere cases of retinal detachment where it was supposed that successful reattachment would hardly be obtained by simple diather-my coagulation, scleral resection or partial buckling operation using Custodis' polyviol-plombe. Circling polyethylene tube (Schepens), circling silicone rod (Everett) and Cerclage (Arruga), combined with or without scleral infolding or buckling with silicone rod, were performed in 54 cases.

Most of our cases had funnel shaped or bullous total detachment.
