　某病院の各科に入院した延べ402人の患者から眼脂を採取し，細菌を培養した。男性128人，女性274人で，平均年齢は84歳であった。細菌663株が同定され，キノロン系の抗生物質3薬剤に対する耐性を検索した。グラム陽性菌の耐性率は，対オフロキサシン60.7％，対シプロフロキサシン57.8％，対レボフロキサシン57.9％であった。グラム陰性菌の耐性率は，対オフロキサシン20.7％，対シプロフロキサシン19.8％，対レボフロキサシン10.3％であった。耐性率は3剤間に有意差がなかった。

　We cultured eye discharges from 402 patients admitted in a general hospital. The series comprised 128males and 274 females. Their ages averaged 84 years. A total of 663 bacterial strains were isolated. They were tested for resistance to three quinolones. Rates of resistance of gram-positive bacteria were：60.7％to ofloxacin,57.8％to ciprofloxacin,and 57.9％to levofloxacin. Those of Gram-negative bacteria were：20.7％to ofloxacin,19.8％to ciprofloxacin,and 10.3％to levofloxacin. There were no significant differences in the rate of resistance among the three quinolones.
