　前下小脳動脈（AICA）領域の脳梗塞10例について，頭部MRI所見を中心に臨床的検討を行った。臨床症候は，病巣側では第VII・VIII脳神経麻痺，小脳性運動失調が多く，第V・VI脳神経麻痺，ホルネル症候群，嚥下障害もみられた。反対側では感覚解離（表在覚障害）が半数にみられたが，片麻痺はみられなかった。危険因子では高脂血症，高血圧，糖尿病が多かった。脳血管造影は8例に施行され，椎骨脳底動脈の動脈硬化が強く，血行不全による血栓性閉塞の機序が考えられる例が多かった。頭部MRIでは中小脳脚を含む脳幹病変7例，さらに小脳病変を伴うものが3例みられた。機能予後は多くは比較的良好で，後遺症は第VII・VIII・V脳神経麻痺や反対側感覚解離がみられた。以上より，AICA領域梗塞には臨床症候やMRI所見などのvaria—tionが多く，一部には縦方向に病変が及び，嚥下障害を呈するようなワレンベルグ症候群に近い例も存在する可能性が考えられた。

Clinical features of the anterior inferior cerebel-lar artery (AICA) territory infarcts were investigat-ed in ten patients, ranging in age from 38 to 76 years. In all patients, there were MR images of infarction located in the area supplied by the AICA. The lesion was on the left side in 6 patients and right side in 4. The lesion of brain stem including the middle cerebellar peduncle was found in 7 patients and that extended to the cerebellum was in 3 patients. The main ipsilateral neurological signs were the VII and VIII cranial nerves palsy and cerebellar ataxia.
