　The physiological activities of brain tissues are known to be regulated by a number of control system. It is of particular interest that brain tissue and blood owe their energy source solely to glucose. Numerous papers have so far been published on glycogen metabolism of the brain tissue of trauma, anoxia and of the tissue poisoned by certain chemi-cals^1)〜4). Several papers have reported on the glycogen metabolism of brain tissue with special reference to the phosphorylase activity^5)〜6). How-ever, there have been few papers on the relation of body temperature to the glycogen metabolism of brain tissue.

　The present paper deals with the effects on the glycogen metabolism of brain tissue of several drugs and certain environmental conditions, by applying a new method of determination of glycogen in tissue. Some discussion is added to the implication of the results obtained.
