　緊急入院を要した広汎性発達障害(pervasive developmental disorder；PDD)の患者への治療や支援方法ついて明らかにすることを目的として，当科へ緊急入院した広汎性発達障害の患者の臨床的特徴と入院治療の方法論と有効性について検討した。その結果，高機能PDD患者では未診断のケースや不登校を来しているケースの割合が多かった。知的障害を合併するPDD患者では家族や施設職員などのケアする者の休息のため一時的にケアを代わりに行ういわゆるレスパイト的な入院や身体治療が必要なケースなどが存在することなどが明らかになった。これらのことから，PDDに対する早期からの気づきや支援の充実，身体治療科との連携，PDD患障害患者の急性期治療モデルの確立などが必要となってくると考えられた。

　To determine the type of treatment and support necessary for patient with pervasive developmental disorders (PDD) requiring emergency admission, we investigated the clinical features of PDD patients admitted at our pediatric emergency ward. Our investigation revealed that among the high-functioning PDD patients, the percentages of undiagnosed patients and patients who did not attend school were high. Among PDD patients with mental retardation, some were admitted to the ward because they required physical treatments. We think that establishing emergency psychiatric treatment for PDD patients is necessary, and both social support and corporation with doctors who deal with physical problems are needed for this.
