要旨●回盲部・虫垂は解剖学的・生理学的に異なる臓器の連結部という特徴的な位置に存在し，特にリンパ装置の発達を伴うこともあり，感染症や炎症，免疫に関連した多種多様な疾患の発生母地となる．そのため，回盲部・虫垂病変の病理診断には，詳細な臨床情報や内視鏡所見情報が必要であり，特に炎症性疾患の病理診断において，炎症の時相，粘膜傷害の原因検索に注目する必要性について強調した．さらに回盲部・虫垂病変において経験しうる疾患の臨床病理学的特徴を網羅的に示した．

　The ileocecal region and appendix are found in the distinctive anatomical and physiological junction between different organs, which is particularly characterized by the development of lymphatic structures. This makes the area prone to various diseases related to infections, inflammation, and immunity. Detailed clinical information and endoscopic findings are essential for the pathological diagnosis of ileocecal and appendiceal lesions. Specifically for the pathological diagnosis of inflammatory diseases, it is important to focus on the phase of inflammation and determine the causes of mucosal damage. Furthermore, this study presents the clinical and pathological features of diseases that can occur in ileocecal and appendiceal lesions.
