要旨●感染症の適切な治療のためには原因微生物を迅速かつ正確に特定することが大切である．そのためには，抗酸菌感染症の診断では特に遺伝子検査が重要な位置を占めている．遺伝子検査は検体から直接の迅速診断のみならず，抗酸菌の分離培養条件（培地や温度）を変更するための有益な情報も提供できる．最近では，核酸抽出から増幅反応，検出までをすべて自動で行う次世代型の遺伝子検査システムが開発されている．そして，“ポストゲノム時代”を迎えた今日，質量分析装置を用いることによって，細菌に由来した蛋白質成分の分子量情報（マススペクトル）のパターンから，わずか10分足らずで分離菌株の同定ができるようになった．

　To adequately treat infectious diseases, rapid and accurate identification of pathogenic microbes is crucial. In particular, genetic tests play an important role in the diagnosis of mycobacterial infection. Genetic tests allow rapid diagnosis directly from specimens while providing beneficial information to determine optimum isolation conditions（medium and temperature）. In recent years, an automated next-generation genetic testing system that can perform DNA extraction, amplification, and detection in series has been developed. Moreover, in the current“post genomic era”, it has become possible to identify an isolated strain from patterns of molecular weight information（mass spectra）of protein components derived from a bacterium in only under 10 minutes.
