　最近，乳頭部癌の報告もその数を増してきたが，癌の判定が困難であり，かつまた腫瘍の占拠部位からみて，早期癌と考えたい症例を経験したので報告する．

　Case, A 57 year old man was seen on August 8, 1972, with the chief complaints of jaundice, fever, and abdominal pain. The cancerous lesion in the Papillary Region was suspected from P.T.C. and external choledocostomy was performed.

　A positive diagnosis of the malignant tumor of the Papillary Region was made from hypotonic duodenography, duodenofiberscopy and biopsy which were done when the patient's physical condition improved.

　The pathological finding of this tumor was an anaplastic adenocarcinoma in the Papillary Region, however some difficulty was found in differenciating it from Carcinoid or non-epithelial tumor etc.

　There was no infiltration in the duodenal mucous membranes, musucularis mucosae, the sphincter of Oddi, or pancreas, and no metastasis to the regional lymphnodes.

　By applying the difinition of Early Carcinoma of the Stomach, we would like to propose the name of Early Carcinoma of the Papillary Region to this case.
