Erosive gastritis is a disease entity with clinical findings resembling those in peptic ulcer, and with a season-bound tendency to recidivate. Massive bleeding is a frequent complication and may recur. Treatment is medical, except in cases of repeated bleeding, and in occasional pronounced cases with ulcer-like symptoms, where operation may be indicated. It is of practical interest that, except by gastroscopy, the diagnosis can even be made roentgenologically.
