要旨　X線診断の立場から胃癌の深達度診断指標について述べた．まとめると以下のごとくである．(1)X線的な深達度診断にあたっては，その指標となる所見をsm浸潤と因果関係にある所見と相関関係にある所見とに分けて行う必要がある．(2)肉眼ならびにX線所見は，m浸潤部とsm浸潤部の平面的な大きさの関係ならびに空間的な重なりの位置関係によって差が認められる．(3)癌のsm浸潤によって生じる胃壁の肥厚・硬化所見を捉え，その所見の大きさから最深部胃壁層を推定する必要がある．(4)X線的な深達度診断では，癌組織型の違いによる発育進展形式の差などの臨床病理学的な事象を考慮して行うべきである．

　The diagnostic indicator of the depth of invasion of gastric cancer was discussed from the viewpoint of the radiological diagnosis. The essential points were summarized as follows: 1) radiological diagnostic indicators should be divided into findings associated with sm invasion and findings accompanied with sm invasion, 2) the macroscopic and radiological findings differ according as the size and special overlap of m invasion and sm invasion of cancer, 3) the thickening and hardening of the gastric wall by sm invasion of cancer should be detected, the deepest layer of invasion should be estimated by the size of this finding, 4) radiological diagnosis of the depth of invasion should be modified by the clinical and pathological findings, e.g. a mode of development of cancer may be different according to a histological type.
