Cranial Fasciitis: A Case Report

はじめに

　Cranial fasciitis（以下，CF）は頭蓋骨骨膜，頭皮深部筋層より発生するまれな炎症性病変で，急速に増大するため悪性腫瘍やそのほかの腫瘤性病変との鑑別を要する。病理学的にはnodular fasciitis（以下，NF）とよく似た組織像を呈するため近縁疾患と考えられているが，NFは成人の上肢に好発するのに対し，CFは小児の頭部に発生することが特徴である 1）。今回われわれは，13歳男児の前頭部に発症したCFの1例を経験したので報告する。

　The case of a 13-year-old boy with cranial fasciitis is described. The patient had a growing subcutaneous mass in the left frontal region, with no other symptoms. Malignancy was possible, based on the extension of the mass to the outer table and the diploe of the skull revealed by CT and MRI. Total resection of the mass was performed, and it was histologically diagnosed as cranial fasciitis. A brief review of the literature is included herein, emphasizing the need for further investigations of this type of lesion as it is difficult to recognize as a benign tumor before surgical excision.
